April 29, 2016

April flew by so quickly -- I can't believe that I'll be heading back to the states in three weeks. I'm in Italy right now, which will be my last trip of the semester. I'm exploring Rome and the Amalfi coasts, two places that I've dreamed of going so I'm so excited to be here. Here were some of my favorite things in April...

Granada Diary #8

April 26, 2016

Springtime has definitely arrived in Granada and I can't get enough of the warm sunshine and the greenery coming to life all over the city. I soaked it all up this weekend and spent both Saturday and Sunday exploring the Albaicín, Granada's most picturesque and historic quarter.

Olá, Algarve

April 25, 2016

Last weekend, after a quick stop in Lisbon, we drove down south to Portugal's beautiful Algarve coast. I'd seen photos of the insane rock formations and caves of the Algarve all over the internet and couldn't wait to explore for myself. It didn't disappoint!

Weekend Reading

April 22, 2016

I'm sticking around Granada and am looking forward to a low-key weekend between busy weekends of travel (Portugal last weekend and Italy next!) I'm hoping to head to an art museum and spend some time with my host family this weekend. Here are some good articles I've found recently...

Lisboa Love

April 20, 2016

I spent the weekend in Portugal, and my first stop was beautiful Lisbon (or "Lisboa," as it's known to the Spanish and the Portuguese). There is something about this city that really captured me. I only was able to spend about 24 hours there but I liked it so much that I'm determined to go back someday soon.

Three Months In

April 19, 2016

I can't believe that I'm three months into my study abroad experience with only a month left to go! My experience has been so different than what I always thought studying abroad would be but at the same time has exceeded my expectations.

Patterns of Sevilla

April 18, 2016

Sevilla has to be one of my favorite Spanish cities, despite the fact that I spent less than a day there. There's something about the city that is truly unique, and nowhere is this more apparent than in the transcendent Alcázar palace, built by the Moors. I couldn't take my eyes off of all the incredible details and patterns of the palace. I felt I had to share them in a separate post than in my Sevilla recap, so here are some glimpses into this incredible palace...

Dreaming of Sevilla

April 12, 2016

I spent Saturday in Sevilla and absolutely loved it. It is such a vibrant and colorful city that truly embodies the spirit of Andalucía. I only wish I had more time to explore!

Granada Diary #7

April 11, 2016

It's been awhile since my last Granada Diary! I've been traveling on the weekends and been busy with classes during the week. Now that the weather is so nice here, my friends and I are determined to make the most of our afternoons and get out and explore. We managed to do just that last week and found the prettiest spots!

Finding Calm in Mérida

April 9, 2016

I love living in the city, but there are definitely times when I miss the slower pace of suburban or small town life. And I definitely miss nature! I went to the small city of Mérida, Spain last weekend, and found some tranquility among the small city's quiet streets and Roman ruins.

Weekend Reading

April 8, 2016

Happy Friday! I have a busy weekend ahead but it should be nice. Tonight I'm heading to a fútbol game, tomorrow I'm going to Sevilla (which should be so beautiful!), and on Sunday I'm hoping to get another hike in around here in Granada. Here are some links that I've come across over the past few weeks...

Postcards from Córdoba

April 5, 2016

This weekend, I did some more traveling around Spain. The first stop was the small Andalucían city of Córdoba. The main attraction is the incredible Mezquita, but I found the rest of the city to be charming as well. If only I had more time to explore!

4 Days in Barcelona

April 4, 2016

Even though it wasn't in the plans to spend my spring break in Barcelona, I'm so glad I ended up there. I absolutely fell in love with this city! I loved the bright energy, beautiful architecture, different neighborhoods, and (especially) the amazing food. Here's what I did, where I ate, and what I saw during my trip...
