March 31, 2016

How is April already here?! I can't believe I have less than two months left in Spain. This semester has been flying by so fast, it makes me sad! April will be a busy but good month, as I have a lot of trips planned. Here's what I loved during March...

Fallas de Valencia

March 29, 2016

I spent last weekend in Valencia, a coastal Spanish city that hosts a huge festival each spring known as Las Fallas (or Falles in Valenciano, the local dialect). I went with the group of students that I'm studying with to check out this tradition. It was crowded and a little crazy at times, but still fun!

Change of Plans

March 28, 2016

I learned an important lesson this week... that traveling can be unpredictable and sometimes you just have to let go of your expectations and be flexible. Because, sometimes, when you're supposed to spend the week in Budapest and Prague, your flight ends up being cancelled and you get stuck in Barcelona all week...

Weekend Reading

March 18, 2016

I'm spending the weekend in Valencia, Spain for their annual Fallas celebration. It should be a busy weekend with so many cool things to see! On Sunday, I'm headed to Budapest for a few days and then Prague. I'm so excited to explore these cities.

Two Months In

March 16, 2016

As of last Sunday, the 13th, I have officially been studying abroad here in Granada for two months. It kind of feels like it's been two months, but then I remember that I only have two months left and that it's already my spring break and my mind is blown!

48 Hours in Madrid

March 14, 2016

Madrid is one of my favorite cities. It's always pulsing with energy but has such a European elegance to it. I've visited on two weekends so far this year and have been able to get a pretty good idea of the city. I also have some experience fitting in most of Madrid's big sights in just 48 hours. Here's a sample itinerary if you have a quick weekend to spend in Spain's capital city...

Turning 20 in Morocco

March 11, 2016

I spent last weekend in Morocco, and celebrated my 20th birthday there on Sunday. It was definitely a birthday to remember!

The Streets of Assilah, Morocco

March 9, 2016

My amazing weekend in Morocco continued with a visit to the city of Assilah, located near Tangiers (the port city where we entered the country). Assilah was bright, colorful and truly enchanting.

Morocco's Blue City

March 8, 2016

I had the most incredible weekend in Morocco... it almost feels like it was a dream! I fell in love with this vibrant and distinctive country and already want to go back. The first city that we visited was Chefchaouen, nestled in the Rif mountains. It's known as the "Blue City"... it's pretty obvious why!

The Biggest Lesson I Learned in My Teens

March 6, 2016

Today, I turn 20 years old! It's crazy to think that I am entering my twenties. Since it's such a monumental moment, I find myself looking back on the lessons I learned during my teenage years and how they got me to where I am today. One lesson in particular stands out to me as the most important...

Sunday in Salobreña

March 4, 2016

Last Sunday, I headed south of Granada to Spain's beautiful Costa Tropical and soaked in the charm of Salobreña's Casco Antiguo (old city).

Granada Diary #6

March 3, 2016

I stayed around Granada this weekend, and kept busy on the four days I had off from classes (I don't have classes Fridays and Monday was Día de Andalucía, a region-wide holiday). I did a lot of exploring the city with my friends and with my host mom!

A Day in My Life

March 2, 2016

I don't know why but I always find it interesting to read about people's daily lives, so today I've decided to do a "Day in My Life" post! I thought this would be especially fun to do as I'm studying abroad, so I can look back on it later and remember my days here in Granada, Spain.
